8th Grade Corner

Dear Parent/Guardian,
Welcome to our our page dedicated to all 8th grade end-of-the-year activities!
We understand that the end of the year can be a busy and exciting time for both students and parents, and it can be difficult to keep track of all the important dates, events, and deadlines. That's why we've created this comprehensive resource to help keep you informed and organized.

Here you will find all the information you need to know about end-of-the-year activities, including graduation ceremonies, award ceremonies, class trips, and other special events. You'll also find important dates, deadlines, and instructions on how to register and sign up for these activities.
In addition, we've included helpful tips and suggestions to help you prepare for these activities, such as what to wear, what to bring, and what to expect. We want to ensure that your child has a memorable and enjoyable end-of-the-year experience.

So, whether you're a busy parent on the go or just looking for a one-stop resource for all 8th grade end-of-the-year activities, you've come to the right place. We hope you find this page informative and useful, and we wish you and your child a successful and exciting end to the school year!
Howdy 8th Grade! Goodbye middle school... hello high school! It's time to celebrate at Rawhide Ranch. For this 8th grade dance you have the choice of semi-formal, formal, or cowboy/Cowgirl for dress attire. Tickets going on sale soon!
To honor the 8th-grade class of 2024, we will be going to Knotts Berry Farm on Tuesday, June 4th.   Buses will leave Sullivan at 8:30 AM and return to Sullivan at approximately 9:00 PM, depending on traffic. Please make arrangements for prompt pick up the night of June 6th at Sullivan Middle School.
Permission slips and payment are due April 21 or your child will be unable to attend. The trip cost is 95.00 which includes a ticket, food, and bus transportation. Since Knott’s prohibits bringing food into the park, we are purchasing All Day Dining Passes which include both an entrée and a side every 90 minutes (that’s five meals and five sides throughout the day). Unfortunately, drinks are not included, but students may bring unopened or empty water bottles. If your child has special dietary restrictions, please contact Mrs. Foxley at [email protected] and arrangements can be made through Knott’s.
Please make payment using the QR codes below (strongly preferred) or by making a cash payment through Linda Pipe in Sullivan’s front office. Checks will not be accepted. To help all 8th graders attend, please consider making a donation at the time of payment. If you need financial assistance, please contact Mrs. Foxley at [email protected] and arrangements will be made.
We’ve had a great year and everyone’s excited to celebrate this extraordinary crew of 8th graders. More specific information will be provided as June 6th approaches. Please direct any questions to [email protected]. As always, thank you for your continued support from home.

Hello 8th Grade Wildcat Families!

Promotion is Thursday, June 6th at 10 am.  Please be sure to arrive in time to park (it will be crowded) and be in your seat no later than 9:45am.  The gates will open at 9:15 am. The Student Procession will begin promptly at 10am.

Location:  Promotion will again be celebrated on the Lower Field.  There is virtually no shade cover, so sunscreen and hats are encouraged.  You are welcome to bring umbrellas for extra sun protection, but you are asked to please sit or stand in the back so as to not obstruct the view of others also celebrating their student’s promotion.  Only Sullivan Middle School students will be allowed on campus before, during and after the Promotion ceremony.  You are welcome to bring water, but ASB will also have water for sale in the lower field.

Arrival:  Students need to arrive by 8:30 am and report to the MPR.

Cell Phones: Student cell phones MUST be left with parent/guardian for safe keeping.

Dress Code:  School dress code is required.  No clothing with violent, drug/alcohol or political images.  Jeans must be hole free.  No strapless tops.  Midriffs must be covered.  High heels are allowed, but please be aware that the ground may be soft.

Attendees:  Seating is limited; we are asking to keep invitees to 4 per promoting student.

Parking:  Parking will be limited so please try to carpool as much as possible. Overflow parking will be located on campus grounds. Parking attendants will be present to direct traffic.  Again, please allow for ample time to park and walk to the lower field.

Disabled Access:  Please contact Linda Pipe, Office Manager phone: 760-631-5209 or email [email protected] if you will need assistance.

Dismissal:  You are welcome to check your promoting 8th grader out after the ceremony and continue your celebration.  We will have tables set up to make this a seamless experience.

We look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of our students with you!
