Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Sullivan Middle School,

The beginning of a new school year brings excitement and opportunity. We at Sullivan Middle are looking forward to getting started and doing great things with our students. Whether you are returning or joining the Sullivan Middle School family I look forward to working along side you.

Who we are:
This is our Mission Statement. This is what we strive for. Not just teachers. Students and parents as well. It paints an accurate picture of who we are and what we do.
“To Prepare students for success in college and career,
to inspire students to contribute to their community in a meaningful way,
to empower all students to achieve at their highest potential.”

We do this well. Here's how.
Our website is accurate and the calendar is easy to use. I invite you to subscribe to it.
The Parent Portal is a great way to track your student's progress in each class. Sign Up.
Email us.  We respond.
Stop in and talk to us in person.

My request of you:
Get involved in our school and do not be a stranger. Often times parents are less involved in middle school than they were in elementary. This is backwards. Middle school brings new challenges and opportunities. Do not miss them. Your student needs you now more than ever, even if they tell you otherwise. If we have performances, events, or awards ceremonies, get here! I openly invite you and want to make it clear how much you are wanted at this school.

Our Tradition:
We work tirelessly to prepare your student to be successful. We do this through high quality instruction, promoting student collaboration, and encouraging student accountability. We have a tradition of excellence on our campus that will continue to grow stronger this school year. Part of what shapes our culture is the courses we offer. Our Language Arts, History, Science, Math, and PE teams dedicate themselves to student achievement and growth. We also have elective courses that have set the standard for excellence for years. Our show choir, music, art, ASB, and yearbook classes are all award winning.

What’s New:
Sullivan Middle School has four new elective courses that will continue to make our students competitive both now and in the future. These are part of our STEM Program and each course has a focus on applied mathematics and science.
Engineering: Robotics and Digital Design
BioMedical: Forensic Science and Science of Technology
Coding and Computer Programming

Here’s to a great year,
Joseph Clevenger
