Can you believe that we are already halfway through the 6th grade year? The students are progressing nicely and it is time to start thinking about 6th grade camp. The 6th grade camp is held at Camp Cuyamaca, near Julian, from Monday, May 22nd through Friday, May 26th. The total cost of camp is $350, which includes both the camp fee and the cost of transportation. The San Diego County Office of Education runs this excellent outdoor school program. There is a principal and teachers, just like our campus at Sullivan, only everything at camp is geared toward a hands-on educational experience in the outdoors. In addition, Sullivan teachers will be at the camp throughout the entire week. The students will be participating in several different activities that will enhance their education in the 6th grade.
We will be holding an informational meeting on Monday, March 6th at 10:30am in the MPR. All 6th grade students will attend. We welcome and encourage parents to attend this meeting so we can answer any questions you might have about the camp. Mrs. Breckenridge, Mrs. Warkentien, Mr. Prechtl, and Mrs. Gose have accompanied the 6th graders at this camp for several years and would be happy to answer any questions you might have about this wonderful experience.
We look forward to seeing you at the informational meeting and partnering with you as we prepare for this exciting opportunity. Please contact Miss Meghann in the school office at firstname.lastname@example.org for any information regarding this event.
